DISTRICT
In 2021, there were over 10,000 fashion businesses,
employing more than 196,000 people and turning over
£32bn in London alone.
The Fashion District in east London will create a cluster that paves
the way for even more growth and innovation. London is a global
capital for culture and creativity, and this exciting new district will
secure east London’s place at the centre of fashion.

As of 2020, the UK fashion and textile industry was dominated
by SMEs, with micro businesses making up 90% of retail,
85% of wholesale, and 80% of manufacturing businesses.
